UniFi CyberSecure Enhanced

Add enhanced security to your UniFi network with UniFi CyberSecure Enhanced.

UniFi CyberSecure Enhanced is a premium security service designed to significantly upgrade UniFi Network’s built-in defences, focusing on two key areas with enterprise-grade technology:

• Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDS/IPS): Powered by Proofpoint, this system actively scans network traffic for threat signatures, such as known IP addresses, ports, or protocol anomalies, to detect and block malicious activity in real-time.
• Enhanced Content Filtering: Utilising Cloudflare’s capabilities, this feature provides granular, policy-based control over user and device access to web content.

CyberSecure Enhanced is now available to purchase directly from us and can be added to a UniFi gateway using a Licence key.

Once the licence key has been obtained, the site owner must apply it. Each Key is valid for one site only, and each site needs its own licence to add the advanced protection given by CyberSecure Enhanced. 

To apply a licence key when logged as the site owner:

1. Settings -> Cyber Secure -> Click here to activate
   

 

2. Then the option to apply the licence key shows up.

3.Enter the licence key and away you go. 

Enhanced Intrusion Detection and Prevention.

UniFi’s powerful IPS/IDS system scans traffic for known threat patterns, which are called signatures, for the detection and prevention of threats to your network. Adding the enhanced detections, which are part of Cybersecure Enhanced add an expanded library of these signatures with more regular updates. These enhanced signatures are provided by Proofpoint.

• Massive Signature Library: Access to up to 95,000+ threat definitions*¹.
• Up-to-Date Threat Intelligence: Weekly updates including 30–50+ new signatures from Proofpoint and the Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP).
• Improved Accuracy: Reduced false positives through carefully curated signature sets.
• Flexible Policy Control: Support for up to 50+ threat categories, enabling more targeted and effective security policies.

Enhanced Content Filtering

UniFi’s powerful content filtering can be further enhanced by adding CyberSecure Enhanced. This enhanced content filtering is powered by Cloudflare and adds over 100 granular categories, giving you granular control over what web content users and devices can access. This enables you to build granular filtering policies bespoke to your organisational needs.

• Granular Control: Over 100 detailed categories provide precise control over web access.
• Tailored Policies: The ability to build specific filtering policies based on compliance requirements (e.g. ISO27001), user groups, or VLAN.
• Scalability: Suitable for networks requiring fine-grained web access control and adherence to organisational or regulatory policies.

Requirements

• UniFi Cloud Gateway: Version 4.1.8 or newer
• UniFi Gateway: Version 4.1.3 or newer
• UniFi Network: Version 9.3 or newer (for Content Filtering) with UniFi OS Server. UniFi Network Server is not supported.
• Remote Access must be enabled for the subscription to successfully activate.
• You are located in any region except the following:
  • China
  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Syria
  • Ukraine (Crime, Donetsk, and Luhansk)
  • Russian Federation
  • Belarus
  • Venezuela

Transferring a CyberSecure Subscription.

CyberSecure Subscriptions can now be transferred to other consoles with the same owner. Each licence can only be transferred twice within a 30-day period. This means that a licence can be moved from hardware when upgrading gateway devices or transferred to a different site with the same owner. Note that upgrading to an EFG will require a new CyberSecure Enterprise subscription. 

*¹ Supported device models and signature capacity

The number of available threat signatures depends on your UniFi Gateway model. Some devices also support Memory Optimised Mode, which limits the total signature count to preserve system resources. See Unifi Documentation for the up-to-date list.
